On Friday afternoon the under 10s and one colts match were successfully completed. The storms Friday night then washed out cricket on Saturday Morning.

The rain also put paid to the Under 16s representative teams game at McCosker which was a washout without a ball being bowled.

The Under 12s and Under 14s both played their matches but unfortunately lost to the Tamworth teams. Best achievers in the Colts match were Mitch Myler 28 not out, Noah O’Neill 19 no, Ethan Campbell 19, for Mt Russell. Tom Mitchell took 2/ 7. For Koloona, Chloe Johnson played a lone hand of 17 out a team total of 36 for Koloona.

Sam Newmarch and Dillon Gardner took two wickets a piece.

In the under 12s’ representative match, Tamworth won the toss and sent Inverell in to bat.

Inverell started very well with Bradyn Campion 21 and Charlie Moses adding 48 for the first wicket. At the end of the 20 over block, Inverell was 1/57.

Tamworth took to the crease and in the same number of overs made 1/54 with Ben Myler 1/5 the wicket taker.

After lunch, Inverell returned to the crease where Charlie Moses carried his bat to make a deserved 56 not out, Dillon Gardner added 13 as Inverell finished their overs at a competitive 4/145 from its allotted 40 overs.

Tamworth resumed and Inverell made plenty of chances, but failed to capitalise on them as Tamworth made it through to 4/150 in the 37th over.

Sean Walters picked up a wicket and Orrick Youll completed a spectacular run out with a direct hit.

In the under 14s’ representative match, Inverell batted first and made 143 from 45 overs before being bowled out. Best for Inverell were Blake Cameron 28, Lachlan Sole 23 and Noah O’Neill 23.

Dion Rynne made 18 to nudge the score over 140.

Tamworth made light work of the chase, losing only one wicket to finish 1/145 in the 33rd over. The only wicket-taker was Jack Stafford who finished with 1/37.

Noah O’Neill toiled hard with ball to finish 0/23 from his eight overs, and Blake Cameron also bowled a tidy spell.
