Hunt for man who masturbated in front of teen

POLICE are hunting a man who lurked outside a teenage girl’s home in East Maitland and encouraged her to touch his penis.

The 17-year-old was in her front yard last Sundaynight between 6pm and 7pm when she saw the man standing outside her front fence near the corner of Burg and Rous Streets touching his penis.

The man spoke to the girl and allegedly suggested she should touch his penis, and when she refused he started to masturbate, police said.

The girl ran inside to alert police.

Central Hunter acting crime manager Acting Detective Inspector Mitch Dubojski urged residents and children in the area to be vigilant.

He said police had canvassed the area on Monday and again on Tuesday and were certain the man did not live nearby.

“Residents who see someone who they don’t recognise loitering around residential areas should see who they are, and if necessary contact police,” Acting Detective Inspector Dubojski said.

The man is believed to be aged between 30 and 40, had short dark hair with a bald patch on top, and was wearing tan cargo pants and a white t-shirt.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Maitland detectives on 4934 0200.
