Forbes runner Jessica Pascoe has added another trophy to her cabinet after she was the first female to finish the Carcoar Cup 6km Dash on Sunday.

Jessica completed the hilly course in 25 minutes, 32 seconds, more than half a minute ahead of her nearest rival Bronwyn Hager.

The win follows her victory in the 5km event at last month’s Forbes Running Festival, when she was the first competitor to finish in 19.21 minutes.

Jessica had a record field of runners to contend with on Sunday, with entries in the 6km, half marathon and marathon events all nearly double those of last year.

The 6km event drew 130 runners last weekend, compared to 73 last year, while the half marathon and marathon fields both eclipsed last year’s numbers by more than 40.

A shorter run for children was also very popular, attracting 170 entries.

“They were terrific results from our point of view,” said Carcoar Cup organiser Andrew Baulch.

The top three finishers in the men’s 6km were Craig Benson (23.13), Cameron Tonge and Shane Whatman.
