Local band release new music clip

To The Depths Local Band, The Daily Chase, has released a video of their latest song To The Depths to help spread their music andiscurrently in the process of recording more songs.

The video has been produced by Tim Towie Films and Heidrich Films, which is run by the drummer of the band, Ben Heidrich, and has already surpassed 1000 views on YouTube.

“We have had so much fun building this band and will continue to do so. We just want to play shows and travel with our music,” Ben said.

The band started when Ben and his friend Marc Patterson, who is vocalist and guitarist, were jamming and saw a video of Rory Cuthell who became the lead vocalist.

Second guitarist Tyson Whillas came on board after hearing the band jam and after a year without a bass player, Nick Wilks joined to complete the ensemble.

Ben spoke about the local music scene, “There are so many talented bands and musicians in Port Pirie, if they just had more support and recognition from the community I’m sure they would go far. Local band ‘Sector 12’ played at the ‘Wolfmother’ show when they came to town, they also played at the Triple J ‘One Night Stand’. I think the town needs more music venues for the kids to showcase their talent.”

“We recently played a house party show with a couple local Port Pirie bands and a headlining Adelaide band,” Marc said.

“Its good clean fun and the kids really get into it, if we could play shows like this every weekend we would!”

The group’s sound has evolved with their tastes and would be considered metalcore.

“Most of us grew up around punk rock music and riding BMX. This definitely influenced us musically and is a big part of our sound today. As we grew older our taste in music then shifted to heavy bands,” Ben said.
