Police briefs: assault police, resist arrest charges after Canowindra incident

The latest briefs in from the Cowra Police station. FILE PHOTO.A 17 year old male from Cargo has been charged with Assault Police, Resist Police and Refuse Police Direction on Friday,October 31.

Police attended licensed premises in Canowindra and were informed an underage male was ejected from the premises.The male was issued with a number of directions to move on during the evening.

The male became involved in an altercation with another person. Police attempted to remove the male from the area which was resisted. No suitable adult was able to be located and as such the male was conveyed to Orange Police Station.

While being escorted to charge facilities at Orange Police Station, police allege, the male assaulted a police officer.

The male was issued with a Court Attendance Notice and will appear before Cowra Local Court onNovember 5.

A break and enter occurred on Lee Street Cowra between 2pm Saturday 1st and 3.30pm Sunday,November 2. A flyscreen was removed from a side window and a television was taken from the premises. Police are investigating.

A malicious damage occurred on Logan Street Cowra between 9pm and 9.30pm on Sunday, November 2 2014. A phone booth and a brick wall at the location were damaged with spray paint.

A sporting club on Hartley Street Cowra was damaged in the process of being broken into about 7.50pm Sunday, November 2. A glass window was smashed in an attempt to gain entry which activated an alarm. Nothing appears to have been taken. Police are investigating.

Malicious Damage occurred on a property on Holman Place Cowra between 4.30pm and 5pm Sunday,November 2. A door was damaged after an offender attempted to gain entry to the premises. Police are investigating.
