Riddles celebrate 50th anniversary

Bill and Robyne Riddle, of Thornlands, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.Thornlands couple Bill and Robyne (nee Cahill) Riddle are celebrating 50 years of marriage.

The pair met through Robyne’s step sister in 1961.

They had mutual friends and would go out together, then eventually started dating.

At the time, Robyne was a clerk for the Motor Registry in Sydney and Bill was a painter.

They were married at Chatswood Anglican Church in Sydney on October 29, 1964.

After marrying, they lived at Manly, NSW, and eventually bought their first house at Rooty Hill, also in NSW.

Robyne continued working full-time in various book- keeping roles and Bill worked as a painter for many years before changing career paths into security.

They also ran a property maintenance business together and, after retiring, they moved to Thornlands to live closer to family.

In retirement, they have travelled extensively around Australia, have taken up bowls at Victoria Point Bowls Club and have enjoyed some ocean cruises.

Bill and Robyne have one daughter and one granddaughter.
